CarbonFree Business
Carbonfund.org is working with dozens of businesses, non-profits, congregations and event planners to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and educate others about global warming and the cost effective solutions we can all take. While each organization is unique, Carbonfund.org has developed our CarbonfreeTM program to meet the needs, budget and goals of your organization.
CarbonfreeTM is an innovative and flexible program designed to secure carbon reduction goals and outreach commitments that create an ongoing cycle of offsets and outreach to customers, employees, the media, shareholders and others interested in your organization.
Organizations commit to 1) offset all or a portion of their carbon footprint and 2) develop an outreach program with Carbonfund.org to further educate their stakeholders. Carbon offsets, which can include renewable energy (i.e. green power), energy efficiency or reforestation projects, are typically for:
- Office emissions (including electricity, paper, etc.)
- Business processes
- Shipping
- Business travel
- Conferences, events
- Employee commuting
- Other
For shipping, Carbonfund.org and its partner, the Green Design Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, developed the Carbonfreetm Shipping program to allow companies to reduce the impact of their operations by calculating and offsetting the CO2 emissions related to shipments sent to customers.
The outreach component typically includes informing stakeholders of your climate commitment through press releases, web announcements, employee outreach, newsletters, annual reports, media outreach, etc. Carbonfund.org can help your organization develop its outreach strategy.
CarbonfreeTM partners may use the CarbonfreeTM logo on their website, business materials, products (where applicable), emails, etc. based on our logo-use agreement.
