Lexan Systems: Working Hard on Both Computer and Climate Security
Lexan Systems has spent over a decade safeguarding corporate networks and data. Its information security solutions are a result of experience, knowledge, vigilance in staying current on ever-evolving technologies, and, above all, a commitment to providing a high standard of service that builds long-term client relationships.
Lexan may know computer security, but when it comes to climate security, it turned to Carbonfund.org.
Lexan Systems went CarbonFree in August, 2007. It is offsetting its corporate footprint by committing to do the following:
- Reduce its carbon footprint as much as possible
- Offset what it cannot prevent
- Donate additional funds to offset the carbon footprint of the products it sells
- Participate in other programs to protect the environment
“I don’t own enough property to plant 1,000 trees each year, and I can’t figure out how to get my car to run on water,” says Christopher Spence, CEO of Lexan Systems. “Currently we only have one planet, and if we do not spend more time taking care of it, we may not have that. We try to be conservative, as much as our business allows, but Carbonfund.org allows us to do more when we cannot do it ourselves. Although we are not a conglomerate, we have the ability to help. I personally also wanted to put my foot down and take a stance that our environment is important and that we care.”
“At Lexan Systems, security is our business,” says Spence. “But our environment is everyone’s business and now is the time to think about the security of our environment for the future. By partnering with Carbonfund.org, we are trying to do our part in protecting our environment. At Lexan Systems, we have offset our company carbon footprint with the help of CarbonFund.org. To take it one step further, we will donate additional funds in an attempt to offset every product we sell to our clients.”
Lexan has exciting news of its own. MX Police, its managed Anti-Spam Service for small and medium businesses, has been running for a couple of years now for clients, but recently the company launched it publicly. (See this month’s coupon for a free MX Police trial opportunity). And it recently partnered with IronKey to provide the most secure portable flash drives available on the market today, used by many departments of the United States government. Lexan continues to put efforts into Data Leak Protection and to finding the best solutions to prevent data leakage.
