Lord, Aeck & Sargent Architecture
Description
At Lord, Aeck & Sargent, our goal is to create buildings that have a restorative, positive impact on the building’s inhabitants and to reduce the negative impact of construction on the environment. We have practiced sustainability in architecture since the early 1990s and believe in harnessing an analytical approach to the optimization of building performance. Our design staff includes over 45 LEED-accredited architects, daylighting specialists and energy analysts who work to implement sustainable design strategies into all of our projects - including the qualifications needed for attaining LEED certification. We have over 30 projects that are targeting or have attained LEED Certification, and we were among the first architecture firms in the country to adopt The 2030 Challenge, an initiative that calls on the global building sector to immediately reduce energy usage by 50 percent in new buildings and major renovations in order to avoid hazardous climate change. Commitment
Lord, Aeck & Sargent has a comprehensive Sustainability Initiative which strives to both green the buildings we design and to green our operations. Since 2007, through our ongoing partnership with Carbonfund.org, we have sequestered 100% of travel emissions via support of reforestation projects and offset 100% of our energy use with renewable energy.
Partner Quote
“For more than a decade we have been creating sustainable, energy-efficient buildings for our clients. These facilities reduce the negative impact of building construction and operation on the environment. Now, we are taking another important step to address our own greenhouse gas emissions through our continuing partnership with Carbonfund.org. We are excited about this initiative and encourage all businesses to consider the global benefits of carbon offset programs.”
