Allegheny Contract Flooring Inc.
Description
Allegheny Contract Flooring is New England’s largest commercial flooring company. The company was founded in 1945 and has been owned by the Auditore family ever since. Daniel and James Auditore took over ownership of the company in 2005 with the goal of not only being New England’s largest but also New England’s greenest commercial flooring company. We intend to approach this goal with the same intensity that has allowed us to successfully install quality floors for three generations and we are excited to take a leadership role in the pursuit of “restorative” practices throughout the entire construction industry. Commitment
As an organization, we pledge first and foremost to reduce, reduce, reduce. As a way of bridging the gap between where we are now and where we plan to be in ten years, we believe in carbon offsetting. Allegheny hopes to become a leader to all small, family-owned businesses when it comes to our carbon offset commitment. By joining the CarbonFree Business Program, Allegheny is offsetting their corporate footprint by supporting renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects.
Partner Quote
Allegheny is a Native American word with multiple translations. One translation is “gone not to return”, which was typically applied to young men going off to war. However, we at Allegheny Contract like to interpret it as a business that has left the decaying oil-based economy. We are taking on a new and restorative approach, rather than supporting a wasteful, inhumane and unnatural way of business. As a management team, we have taken these first few steps toward restoration and sustainability and do not plan on turning back. As the ancient nature of our name would indicate, “we are gone not to return”.
