CIS – Center for International Studies
Description
CIS, the Center for International Studies, is an international education organization whose mission is to provide innovative programs that foster academic, professional, and personal development and lay the foundation for participants to become engaged global citizens. Founded in 2000, CIS has sent approximately 2,000 students abroad. Currently, we send students to countries on four continents including Australia, China, England, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Scotland, and Spain. For more information, please visit us at www.studyabroad-cis.com.
Commitment
CIS’s goal is to become a carbon neutral company. We employ initiatives such as using up to 100% recycled paper and water-based dyes in printed material; purchasing clean energy from the regional electric company; and reducing corporate waste. CIS has chosen to work with Carbonfund.org to calculate the remaining carbon footprint and purchase carbon offsets. As a small business in rural western Massachusetts, CIS is proud to take real actions to battle climate change.
Quote
“We are very excited about our corporate environmental movement. As we think about all we can do, the ideas just keep pouring out. By involving our students in this initiative, they become more conscious of their actions. They not only positively affect the environment but also influence the actions of those around them.”
Jeff Palm, Founder and Executive Director of CIS
