Magnificent SoFlo Seven, Alamo Architects & OCO Architects

Description
Alamo Architects:
Established in 1984, Alamo Architects provides architectural, planning, and interior design services to a diverse clientele. A certain populism and open-mindedness is part of the firm’s personality, which has tended away from the pretentious in favor of a straightforward and problem-solving approach to design. Instead of promoting a house style, their process has been to allow programmatic ideas and architectural expression to emerge through a systematic exploration of purpose, context and culture. A leading architectural design office, Alamo Architects stays dedicated to the spirit of making architecture that rises above expectation and contributes to a unique sense of place and is committed to providing leadership in sustainable building that transcends stereotype.
OCO Architects:
Larry O’Neill began practice in 1969; in 1979 Mickey Conrad & Mark Oppelt joined and in 1984, O’Neill Conrad Oppelt Architects, Inc. was formed. The firm has built a solid reputation as a regionally sensitive design firm with sensible architectural solutions, innovative designs, well-constructed, functional projects. OCO Architects has developed a distinct “problem seeking and solving” process for its clients resulting in numerous multiple commissions. OCO Architects is located in San Antonio, Texas and is organized into flexible studios, each with a principal or associate in charge. The principals are supported by a highly trained design team and administrative staff each dedicated to “building excellence through service, skill and dedication.”
Commitment
Alamo Architects and OCO Architects have taken a broad approach to becoming environmentally responsible companies. Having embraced sustainability throughout both individual offices, becoming carbon neutral with Carbonfund.org was a natural step in furthering their goals of reducing their environmental impact.
Quote
“As architects, we constantly try to limit the environmental impact of buildings and their operations. Having reduced what we can in our own offices, we are glad to have the opportunity to offset the rest.” – Mike McGlone, Magnificent SoFlo Seven
