Swift Cycling
Description
Swift Cycling is one of the largest cycling clubs in Boulder, CO with approximately 100 members. Swift promotes both recreational cycling and racing as well as road cleanups. We also sponsor two of the biggest road races in Colorado. Since we are responsible for a significant amount of CO2 emissions from cyclists commuting to and from races we wanted to help neutralize our impact with carbon offsets.
Commitment
Swift Cycling will estimate the carbon dioxide emissions from its sponsored road races and purchase offsets from Carbonfund.org for these races. Beyond purchasing offsets, Swift Cycling will advertise Carbonfund.org at its races.

“Cyclists spend so much time exercising outdoors. They understandably want to help preserve the environment,” said Stephen Haydel, the director of racing at Swift Cycling. Since driving to races is an unavoidable source of CO2, Haydel decided that purchasing carbon credits was the best alternative for the club and the planet.
