Boy Scout Troop #8, Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic
Description
Boy Scout Troop #8 was founded in 1937, and it is based in the town of Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic. This year, 2007, marks the 70th anniversary of the existence of our troop and also the 100th anniversary of the world scouting, which started on the Brownsea Island in UK in 1907. At this occasion, we are organizing our long-dreamed expedition to Alaska to explore the incredible wilderness. We believe that this adventure will help strengthen our scout capabilities and further develop our moral values – friendship, respect for each other, and respect for the environment – values of enormous importance in today’s world.
Commitment
We are offsetting the flight from the Czech Republic to Alaska of all 26 expedition members. We realize that reducing our impact is a priority to offsetting and we will consider carefully all our future flights. We are committed to be good servants of the environment.
Quote
“Reduce what you can, offset what you can’t” – we believe Carbonfund.org is doing a great job spreading the “reduce” message besides providing the carbon offsets. The “reduce” message is critical for the future of our planet.
