People Friendly. Planet Friendly.
Virgin America is making flying good again with our people friendly service and planet friendly operations and initiatives. As the only airline headquartered in California, Virgin America launched in 2007 with the goal of building a successful airline that also makes environmentally-sustainable practices part and parcel of its business model – from the newest and one of the most carbon efficient fleet operations in the U.S. right down to the use of organic hand-soap in our airplane bathrooms. As we continue to build our airline and reinvent domestic air travel, we remain focused on innovative ways for our planes and our guests to reduce our carbon footprint. As part of this collective effort, Virgin America would like to invite you to help offset your travel by contributing to verified carbon offset projects in California and elsewhere in the U.S. through our nonprofit partner Carbonfund.org. Just What Is An Offset?
Even though Virgin America's fleet is already among the most carbon-efficient in the industry, air travel still affects our environment. By purchasing a carbon offset, you can help reduce the environmental impact of your flight’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by investing in third-party validated projects to reduce CO2 elsewhere in the U.S. (See Virgin America’s specially selected projects below for more on how your voluntary contribution will be put to use.)
