| Thank you for choosing JetBlue Airways for your air travel. At JetBlue, we realize it is our social responsibility to reduce our environmental impact as best we can, in line with low-cost carrier spending habits. Through our Jetting to Green initiatives, we're working to protect and preserve the environment, and to do our part to be good environmental stewards. By choosing to offset your travel with our partner Carbonfund.org, you too are making a pledge to protect and preserve the environment. Thank you for your contribution-- together we can make a difference. Carbonfund.org is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. |
What Does It Mean To Offset? While JetBlue's fleet is among the most fuel-efficient in the industry, air travel still makes an impact on our environment. Carbon offsets allow you to balance out the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions you're responsible for on your flight by supporting projects that reduce CO2 elsewhere. See our projects below. |

Tensas River Valley Reforestation Project |

Location: Tensas River Valley, Louisiana |
| The largest wind farm in the world, Horse Hollow is spread across approximately 47,000 acres in Taylor County and Nolan County in Texas and has a power capacity of 735.5 megawatts. | This project seeks to capture the methane emissions from a landfill in upstate New York. Flaring off the gas prevents it from being released directly into the atmosphere. | Besides sequestering carbon dioxide, this 1,100-acre reforestation project near the Tensas River National Wildlife Refuge will help restore native bottomland hardwood species to Louisiana and protect over 400 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish. The project will help restore watersheds and habitats, including those of the Louisiana Black Bear. This type of habitat once covered 25 million acres of the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley. |
