helps reduce CO2 emissions by providing alternatives to gas powered equipment and chemical fertilizers. According to their CEO and founder Kelly Giard, approximately 5-10% of US emissions are from lawn maintenance equipment. Clean Air Lawn Care uses electric mowers and truck-mounted solar panels to charge its equipment.
They are currently in the running for Entrepreneur Magazine’s Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year award for 2009! While we are talking about Vote for Clean Air Lawn Care as Emerging Entrepreneur!, Mow your grass high. A 2 ½ to 3-inch high cut makes your lawn look fuller, feel softer, and helps keep it healthy. Taller grass shades pesky weed seeds and keeps them from getting established. In addition, a taller lawn is better able to absorb sunshine and better able to retain moisture, the two main contributors to a healthy lawn.
