Anvil Knitwear, Inc., a leading apparel companies recently partnered with Carbonfund.org to produce the world’s first carbon neutral, recycled T-shirt.

To meet meet rigorous standards of the CarbonFree^® Product Certification Program, Anvil assessed the carbon footprint of the recycled tee throughout its life cycle, from raw materials sourcing, manufacturing and transportation to screen printing, consumer use and disposal. Anvil made the tee carbon neutral by reducing emissions during the production process and by offsetting emissions.

Anvil’s commitment to sustainability has led them to be one of the largest organic programs in the world. In honor of Earth Day, Anvil, in partnership with the Sierra Club and Carbonfund.org, donated over 6,000 AnvilRecycled™ and approximately 1,500 AnvilOrganic® tees to schools, universities and environmental organizations to promote environmental awareness.
