Label Impressions Expanding Environ. Friendly Options

When I called Jeff, the president of Label Impressions, last week to see how things were going I wasn’t expecting to hear him list of ways they’re expanding. In case it wasn’t clear, the economy has slowed down a bit in the past year. But that’s just what surprised me. Jeff said they’re expanding their product line and investing in more environmentally friendly material than ever.

One new investment is a biodegradable cellulose-based clear label with a 75% plant based adhesive. These labels will be applied to a biodegradable jar that meets high standards for biodegradability that will be announced at an expo on June 22nd. The labels were printed using water-based inks in their carbon neutral facility in Orange, Calif., and this makes Label Impressions the first printer in North America to achieve this.

Label Impressions began working with Carbonfund.org a couple years ago to offset their energy use and other parts of their business operations. As a partner they’ve even printed a number of items for us including our business cards on FiberStone, a tree- and water-free paper!

It’s always great to see our partners working innovatively even when times are tight. Label Impressions is no exception as they continue to build on their environmental commitment each year.
