Obama urges, “Make No Mistake, This Is a Jobs Bill.”
President Obama reiterated his support for the energy bill again on Thursday afternoon, acknowledging the assortment of economic and energy security benefits the bill would bring to the United States if it is passed by the House of Representatives today.
The climate change bill currently under debate by the House aims to reduce nationwide greenhouse gas emissions 17 percent below 2005 levels by 2020 and 83 percent by 2050 through a cap-and-trade program which allows use of carbon offsets as a means to satisfy emissions limits.
In addition, the President reminded that the bill addresses cost concerns and generates millions of jobs that will spur a clean energy economy and boost national energy security.
“We’ve seen our reliance on fossil fuels jeopardize our national security…. we’ve seen that other countries realize a critical truth: The nation that leads in the creation of a clean energy economy will be the nation that leads the 21st century global economy.”

We need to finally demonstrate leadership in global warming. And funny thing – it will reduce green house gases, and create a whole new, profitable market, that will create jobs, no doubt.
Now add in more and more homeshoring, telecommute, work at home jobs, and we should see a significant reduction in greenhouse gases. This just released study by CISCO is also encouraging.

The United States showing some muscle on a key issue like this – it's very welcome and long overdue.
