Flying High for 30 Years
We know that clear cutting a forest is often bad for the environment, but what about installing a little nine inch pipe for a natural gas well? It’s not the nine inch pipe that can cause so much environmental destruction, but the operation to manage the hundreds and even thousands of these wells. The best way to see and understand this is from a cruising altitude of a thousand feet.
For almost 30 years now CarbonFree® Partner LightHawk has helped members of the media, decision-makers, community members and researchers see the environment from a different perspective. By offering an aerial perspective on critical issues LightHawk educates their influential passengers and changes hearts and minds by showing a different perspective on humans’ effect on the environment. LightHawk also engages in a wide variety of scientific missions to protect the wild creatures of our planet. (Check out the recent falcon flights)
The view from above speaks for itself, providing clarity on issues ranging from the effects of urban development in the US, to illegal mining in countries of Central America. LightHawk works in ten countries in all, and depends on donations and volunteer pilots. It’s a model that’s worked for three decades. Happy birthday LightHawk!
