2 Million Pounds Of CO2 in 6 Months: Teens Leading The Fight Against Global Warming
Carbonfund.org congratulates all our myYearbook “friends” and “fans” for cleaning up 2 million pounds of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
Teens were able to achieve this remarkable milestone in short span of six months by donating their virtual currency called “Lunch Money” to their favorite charities in myYearbook’s popular Causes application. Since its launch in October last year, the Causes application has also saved 3 million square feet of rain forest, sent 22,000 books to Africa, and bought 40,000 pounds of rice for the hungry.
Nine days after joining myYearbook, Carbonfund.org had 34,448 “friends” and 89 “fans.” By donating their “Lunch Money,” supporters of Carbonfund.org are offsetting validated tons of carbon dioxide, and raising awareness about why global warming is a real problem and how we can fight it. With over 20,000 new people joining myYearbook’s Causes application every day, it seems like our mission to move towards a cleaner energy future is gaining momentum.
Since the launch of Causes in October 2008, the Lunch Money donations have added up. “This month marks a milestone for Causes,” says Geoff Cook, the company’s CEO and Catherine Cook’s older brother. “By the end of May, myYearbook will have donated over $150,000 to worthy charities.”

I have been wondering if we humans aren't doing the earth a favor by bringing carbon back above the earth's surface. Think about it: All of that carbon was above the surface to begin with and when those ancient plants/animals died, the ecosystems lost all of that carbon. Furthermore, the earth has been in a 3 million year cooling cycle, and we could be helping to stabilize the temperature by adding our global warming. Just a thought.

That link doesn't work, but maybe because it's four weeks later now. Anyway, I am looking at that website and maybe I'll find what you are referring to.
